Terms of Service
Last updated: JUL 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of thecalmhome.co and the professional organizing services provided by The Calm Home Company (“The Calm Home,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By scheduling services with us, accepting an estimate, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
Our Services
The Calm Home Company provides professional organizing, decluttering, downsizing, estate cleanouts, unpacking, home reset services, and related organizing support throughout Northeast Ohio.
Each project is unique. The scope of work is agreed upon during your discovery call, consultation, written estimate, or service agreement.
We are members of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO), affiliated with the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD), and our team members are background checked and insured.
Scheduling & Cancellations
Appointments may be scheduled online, by phone, email, or written agreement.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible.
If we must reschedule due to illness, weather, emergencies, or unsafe working conditions, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule your appointment at no additional cost.
Estimates & Pricing
Estimates are good-faith projections based on the information available during your consultation.
Because organizing projects often uncover unexpected conditions, actual time and cost may vary.
If we believe a project will exceed the original estimate in any meaningful way, we will discuss the changes with you before continuing.
What We Need From You
To successfully complete your project, we require:
- Safe and unobstructed access to all agreed-upon work areas.
- A responsible adult available to make decisions regarding belongings unless otherwise arranged.
- Honest communication regarding any known hazards.
- A respectful working environment for every member of our team.
Safe Working Environment
The safety of our team comes first.
We reserve the right to pause or immediately stop work whenever a team member reasonably believes the work environment is unsafe.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Smoking or vaping inside the home while our team is present.
- Active drug use or excessive intoxication.
- Mold, sewage, biohazards, animal waste, pest infestations, or structural hazards.
- Unsafe air quality or environmental conditions.
- Aggressive or unsecured animals.
- Illegal activity.
- Violence, threats, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or abusive behavior.
- Excessive verbal hostility toward any member of our staff.
- Any condition that places our team at unreasonable physical or emotional risk.
Our determination regarding workplace safety shall be made in good faith based upon the circumstances observed by our team.
Respect For Our Team
We believe kindness goes both directions.
Our team will always treat clients with compassion, patience, professionalism, and dignity. We expect the same courtesy in return.
Abusive language, yelling, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, personal attacks, inappropriate comments, or hostile behavior directed toward or about any employee, contractor, volunteer, or partner of The Calm Home Company will not be tolerated.
Smoking Policy
For the health and safety of our employees and clients, smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the home while any Calm Home team member is present.
Clients who wish to smoke during an appointment must do so outside and away from entrances.
If indoor smoking continues during a session, we may immediately suspend or terminate services.
Your Belongings
You retain ownership of all property throughout the organizing process.
Nothing is donated, discarded, recycled, relocated, or removed without your authorization.
Donations & Disposal
When you instruct us to donate or dispose of items, those decisions are final.
Once an item leaves your property, it cannot be recovered.

- Prescription medications
- Firearms
- Legal documents
- Personal identification
- Collectibles
- Family heirlooms
- Items of exceptional sentimental or financial value
Although we exercise great care, these items are safest when secured by you.
Found Items
Should we discover cash, legal documents, valuables, or sentimental items during a project, they will be immediately set aside and brought to your attention.
Third-Party Service Providers
At times we may coordinate or recommend independent moving companies, junk haulers, cleaners, contractors, donation partners, or other specialists.
These businesses operate independently from The Calm Home Company and remain responsible for their own employees, equipment, transportation, and workmanship.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, claims involving damage that occurs while work is under the control of an independent third-party provider should first be directed to that provider.
We will gladly cooperate by providing documentation if needed.

The Calm Home Company carries commercial liability insurance.
If you believe damage occurred during a project, please notify us as soon as reasonably possible after discovering it.
We may request the following before determining responsibility:
- Photographs
- Written repair estimates
- Technician reports
- Additional documentation
- Reasonable opportunity to inspect the item
We are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage.
- Hidden defects.

Employee & Contractor Non-Solicitation
Our employees, contractors, volunteers, and team members are essential to our business.
During your project and for twelve (12) months following completion of services, you agree not to directly hire, employ, contract with, or otherwise engage any Calm Home employee, contractor, volunteer, or team member outside of The Calm Home Company without our prior written consent.
Requests for additional services should always be made through The Calm Home Company.
Confidentiality
Your privacy matters.
Everything we see, discuss, or learn inside your home remains confidential except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect someone’s safety.

We may take before-and-after photographs for project documentation.
No photographs of your home will ever be published, shared publicly, or used for marketing without your express written permission.

- We reserve the right to decline future services.
